Console vs. PC Gaming

For my first gaming rant I would like to discuss some of my fundamental rules of gaming, primarily my view of the different gaming platforms, and why certain types of games should only appear on the right one.

PC Gaming seems to be something of a dying breed (something I will go on about at more length at a later date), and I quite frankly cannot understand why. Some of the greatest games in history were PC games: Unreal Tournament, Starcraft, Command and Conquer and even, most recently and most lucaratively World of Warcraft, so I can't understand why this sector of the gaming market has collapsed in on itself.

I know exactly what isn't helping - DRM and other stupid, completely retarded things that any idiot can see is a terrible idea. Assassin's Creed 2 and C&C4 both require persistant internet connections to play single-player and throw you off as soon as the connection drops. I am completely baffled as to why such a thing actually made it into a shipped game. But this is a rant for another time. Lets get back to the point...

To me, there are several game genres that do not work on consoles and only work on PC. These are strategy games and first person shooters.

Equally there are games that do not lend themselves to PC gaming, including platformers and third-person action games.
