My newest project is based on developing a 2D character animation model.

The project started off as an attempt to draw an animated "stick man", similar to the characters in Royal Templars Arena, one of my previous games. However it has rapidly developed into a more sophisticated character.

The video below shows the test character, which is still in the early stages of development, in action.

Stickman

As you can see, the character can move left and right, and jump between the platforms. The red and green squares are currently being used to show collision boxes around the objects - I am working to improve my collision detection system.

I'm still not sure what I am going to do with the Stickman system in the long-run. I am considering an improved version of RT:Arena, or another game set in the same universe. I also have an idea for a Star Wars story that I might be able to tell using a game based on the system.

Whatever the story the game will likely involve puzzle solving, battling/avoid enemies and platform-based action. Stay tuned!
